VICKI HAS WON 1ST PLACE IN OUR DISTRIC WITH HER QUILT!
Somer Loved Manatees (sea cows) and collected figurines, books, and pictures of them. So, when Vicki and Miranda heard about the Hancock Fabric "Quilt of Dreams for 2004" they got busy creating a quilt that Vicki calls "Somer Swimming". This beautiful labor of love took countless hours to design, create and sew. This project is just one more way to tell "Somers Story",
It will be on display (after being judged) at the Bancorp South Ctr in Tupelo, Ms from Sept. 11-14, 2004.

"Somer Swimming with the Manatees" will be given to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital to be enjoyed by a precious child.

Saturday evening we were at a local mall (Southgate, Muscle Shoals, AL) having dinner, and the restaurants window opened into the mall entrance where Santa Claus (not the real one but one of his special helpers / you know what I mean) was stationed. Abbi went out to see him and told him what she wanted (at least what she remembered to this point) and he gave her a candy cane (by the way do you know the story of the candy cane? Oh, well that is another story) so Abbi wanted to give Santa a gift also. She decided to give Santa a copy of Somers CD with her testimony on it. Santa said no one ever gave him gifts and he gave Abbi one of his "special golden bells".
That night at 10:50 the phome rang and a gentleman said "this is Santa and your daughter gave me a CD tonight and I have been listening to it and was reminded of Gods love for me and how far I’ve gotten from Him, I was even a preacher at one time, and after listening to Somer have decided to turn my life back to God". I talked for a few minutes, got some personal information for follow up and prayed with him.
Please remember as you rush through Christmas, it took a child to remind us that
Santa needs Jesus too!

It has been almost three years since Somer moved to heaven (09/17/03) and her Birthday is a week away on August 10th. So, WJOR Radio 101.5 in St. Joseph, TN will feature her music and ministry with the Tennessee Valley this Sunday evening at 7:00 P.M.
Please join us as we celebrate her life and the influence she continues to have on so many.
We will be giving away about fifty CD to those who call in.
Yes, we miss her beyond words, and still cannot understand, but we are trusting God, surely he knows what we cannot see in the fog of our grief and heartaches.
